It’s Officially Summer in North Dakota, Don’t Make THESE Mistakes

It’s officially summer in North Dakota! Let’s all throw a hip hip hurray!

Yes, we can FINALLY get back to the lakes and the river. We can enjoy the sun and have barbecues in the backyard with our friends and family. It’s a good time here.

Speaking of enjoying the sun… it is absolutely necessary to do so, but with caution.

Mistake #1.

Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen!

There’s a mistake many North Dakotans make every summer, so I’m taking it upon myself to remind them not to do it.

It’s a fatal mistake…forgetting sunscreen.

Bring it, drink it, bathe in it… do what you have to do. Obviously, it’s a joke about drinking it.

You want to use sunscreen no matter what you’re doing outside, so make sure you grab some and spread it on.

Side Mission: You also have to make sure you don’t fall asleep outside. …Unless you live outside, then what can you do? PSA: Homelessness is a serious problem.

Look,

Sometimes it’s nice to lie down, warm up with a drink, warm up in the sun… BUT whatever you do, DO NOT fall asleep. That sunscreen will only do so much. Not only will the tan lines be atrocious, but you will also fry yourself.

There, I just saved your life.

We love getting on our boats and drinking on the river, but if we’ve learned anything from the Justin Timberlake fiasco, it’s that you need to have a designated boat captain.

Again, saving lives. I’ll be wearing a cape all week because I got a superhero badge.

Mistake #3.

Here’s what I think is the biggest, most offensive mistake you could make this summer: No. taking. advantage. of. he.

We will only have three or four months of tolerable weather; TO GO OUTSIDE.

Do all things.

Don’t sit inside and waste the heat watching your comfort show on Netflix.

That’s all. Me, leaving dramatically now.
