Taraji P. Henson made a huge mistake at the BET Awards

Taraji P. Henson tried to show her love by giving flowers to the stars in the BET Awards audience on Sunday, but she made several embarrassing mistakes.

The presenter stopped dead in her tracks when she spotted nominee Halle Bailey in the crowd, but mispronounced the singer’s name as “hay-lee” (instead of “howl-lee”).

Then Henson, who had compared the event to a “family reunion,” continued on his way to the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. He spotted TikToker Jordan Howlett (aka Jordan Thee Stallion), whom he referred to as a “Method Man lookalike.”

“Meth is married, are you?” Henson asked before making it clear to viewers that he thought Howlett was another TikToker, food critic Keith Lee.

“Mr. Keith Lee, I know what you’re thinking right now: This is about a 10.9 out of 10?” he asked Howlett, echoing Lee’s catchphrase.

Howlett quickly corrected Henson by pointing to Lee and his wife, Ronni, who were sitting next to him in the crowd.

“I got carried away with my own inner monologue, I’m so sorry,” Henson told Lee before repeating his “10.9” line to the food critic.

She proceeded to call Lee “fine too” in front of his wife, before walking away.

Social media users on X couldn’t help but shudder at Henson’s embarrassing appearance. confusion.
