Rahul, a student of Government Higher Secondary School, Atta Barota, Nuh, said his mark sheet showed that he had scored 363 out of 400 marks even though he had appeared for five subjects and passed all of them. Since each subject has a maximum of 100 marks, the mark sheet should have reflected his total of 500 marks. “While the details of the core subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics were mentioned in the mark sheet, the details of the fifth subject were missing,” he said.

Another student from the same school, Sunny, from the Commerce stream, also faced the same problem. His marksheet reflected only four subjects: English, Business Studies, Accountancy and Economics.

“The council authorities should correct the mistake as soon as possible so that we can submit our documents for admission to the university,” he said.

Many students also found errors in the spelling of their names and those of their parents.

Raj Kumar, principal of Government Higher Secondary School, Tigrana, Bhiwani, said that several discrepancies were found in the marksheets of students of his school and hence they were returned to the board for correction.

“Haryana board authorities should organise camps in districts to rectify the errors. The board should expedite its process and the chairman of the board should initiate action against those who printed the marksheets with errors,” he added.

When contacted, the board’s chairman VP Yadav said they had not received any formal complaints but had obtained information about the lapses through social media.

“We have asked students who have received an erroneous marksheet to hand it over to us so that we can take necessary action. Such students can lodge their complaint through email or visit the board office in Bhiwani,” he added.
