Continuity issues continue to plague season 3 of Bear.

The new season premiered on Hulu last month and viewers have since spotted several potential editing errors. The latest involves a scene in which Richie (Ebony Moss-Bachrach) is on the phone and seems to change his feelings about his failed marriage several times in one conversation.

“I love continuity errors. In #TheBear S3E5 when Richie is on the phone about Chef Terry’s restaurant closing, in one scene he’s wearing a wedding ring and after a cut back there’s no wedding ring,” one fan wrote via X, while another added, “The lack of continuity in The Bear 3×05. No ring, ring, no ring again.”

The scene during the fifth episode showed Richie talking to Jessica (Sarah Ramos) about the closing of Ever’s restaurant. During the exchange between Richie and Jessica, her wedding ring appears and disappears on her left hand.

Hulu’s The Bear proved there are no such thing as too many chefs in the kitchen after two seasons packed with star cameos. The show, which debuted in June 2022, explores the food industry through the lens of a talented chef named Carmy (Jeremy Allen White), who returns to Chicago to run his older brother Mikey’s (Jon) restaurant.

The mishap isn’t just an editing error. Richie notably removed his wedding ring earlier in the season when he came to terms with his ex-wife Tiffany (Gillian Jacobs) engagement with Frank (Josh Hartnett).

It’s not the first continuity error that fans have pointed out this season. An episode focused on Liza Colon-Zayas‘The character, Tina, seemed to upset the established timeline of the series.

“While I love Tina’s episode, I also feel like it just didn’t make sense and ignored past seasons,” one fan wrote via X. “It feels like Carmy and Tina have known each other for years in Season 1. She told Syd she’s been working there since she was in diapers. Her resume says 2017.”

The Bear explores complicated family dynamics, but which of the characters are actually related to each other and how? Mikey (Jon Bernthal) originally ran the sandwich shop before (…)

During the episode “Napkins”, Tina is fired from a long-time job and subsequently finds an opportunity at The Beef after talking to the owner Mikey (Jon Bernthal). The events of the episode took place several years before Mikey’s brother, Carmy (Jeremy Allen White), returned and took over the restaurant. Viewers couldn’t help but wonder if the timeline was off.

“Carmy was already in Copenhagen when she met Mikey. How would Carmy have met T if he had never been to The Beef or Chicago at the time? It just doesn’t make sense,” the post continues. “I feel like the writers literally paid no attention to any details about the characters they had already written.”

Bear, The series, which premiered in June 2022, follows Chef Carmy as he takes over The Beef restaurant from his brother Mikey after Mikey’s death.
