WWE’s Big ‘Mistake’ Alleged to Be the Reason Behind Damian Priest’s Failure Against Seth Rollins at MITB

The real intent was to have Drew McIntyre’s theme song play when the referee was on the two count as he walked down the ramp to cash in. WWE production staff couldn’t complete it in time, so the referee had to pause the count and make it look like it was a botched count. Also, it seems like Chris Van didn’t consider these mistakes to be huge misses, as he commented during his response that if you’re live, these things happen.

Chris Van stated on his Insight podcast: “But from what I understand, Drew’s music was supposed to be the one that was played at the beginning, but his music didn’t take off. It just took off a little late. And mistakes happen. This is live television. Mistakes happen. Not everything is always going to be perfect.”

Seth Rollins stated that if he loses the match, he will not face Damien Priest again until he is champion. Although Rollins was not involved in the conclusion of the match, it seemed like the stipulation was implied, as he would now be unable to compete in the main event scene for quite some time.

However, the champion removed this condition on the following Raw. Damien Priest revealed during a backstage segment that he would like to face Seth Rollins again one day, and that The Revolutionary, even if he were to lose the match, could still challenge for the world championship. Gunther is now the current challenger after winning King of the Ring, but Rollins could soon join the world title race.
