Sensational filmmaker Puri Jagannadh’s last film Liger ended up being a huge failure at the box office. The controversy arose after Puri Jagannadh failed to respond to calls from buyers. The finances are yet to be sorted out and Puri moved on to his next film Double iSmart. The shooting formalities were recently completed and the film has Ram and Kavya Thapar in the lead roles. Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt is essaying the role of the main antagonist in Double iSmart. Puri Jagannadh is keen to sell the theatrical release deals and is quoting Rs 63 crore for the theatrical release rights excluding North India. Negotiations are on.
But buyers are worried whether the Liger controversy will become a drag on the film. Puri Jagannadh’s team is yet to finalise all the non-film deals. They have to clear all the financial debts before the release. Negotiations are on and things will be finalised soon. Double iSmart is touted for release on August 15 and the first single has received a good response from the audience.
