Bear surprised fans with the number of potential continuity errors (and editing mistakes) that made it into the final cut of Season 3.
The hit series, which debuted in June 2022, featured Chef Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) while trying to run with his brother Mikey (Jon Bernthal) restaurant in Chicago. The first season ended with Carmy closing the sandwich shop so she could open a more upscale place called The Bear. The second season focused on the employees rushing to get The Bear ready, while the third installment focused on the success (and failures) of trying to keep the new business afloat.
Season 3 received mixed responses from critics and fans alike. However, viewers proved how focused they were on the content when several continuity errors were pointed out after the episodes began streaming on Hulu in June 2024. Fans walked away with questions about details of characters’ backstories that they felt the show had left behind and more.
Before Season 3 aired, reports surfaced about a quiet renewal from FX. Bear for more episodes. Several outlets claimed that the show filmed seasons 3 and 4 at the same time due to the busy schedules of cast members like White, Ayo Edebiri and Ebony Moss-Bachrach.
Matty Matheson, who plays Fak, admitted that it was difficult to remember which scenes he could talk about since there is footage that fans would not yet see when season 3 began airing.
“We can talk about a lot of things. But I forget everything, which is perfect because I’m like, ‘I don’t even know,’” she joked during an interview with Variety That same month, “I haven’t even seen the season, actually. I’ve seen some edits and some early episodes, but I’ve only seen episodes 1 through 4, really.”
The actor also previously spoke about the leaks that occurred. “It’s one of those things where sometimes we’re in public and I think it’s a little annoying,” he said. Us in March. “But we are in a city that we love and people pass by. And they pass by as soon as we go out.”
Matheson continued: “I think maybe we could be a little bit more reserved. Maybe not stay outside all together. But we’re such good friends that, to be honest, it seems calm.”
