Stephen Chow confesses past mistakes

March 5th – Wong Jing once said that Stephen Chow was so busy creating his own success that he forgot about others, and it seems the actor himself had known about those facts for a while.

As reported on Groove Asia’s website, while speaking with CCTV host Chai Jing on the famous talk show, “Seeing,” the “Journey to the West” director talked about his views on relationships, work, and money.

Asked why he is still single, the actor replied: “Do I still have the chance to look like that? I’m so old that even I’m afraid to say my age.”

He continued, “I once had a true love in front of me, but I didn’t appreciate it. I think I’m unlucky in that aspect. If I could start over, I wouldn’t be so busy and I would take some time to do something I like.”

Chai Jing also pointed out that while some called him a genius, other directors distanced themselves from him, calling him a tyrant as he would publicly change scenes due to differences of opinion.

He admitted it and said: “When I work, I am very serious. Sometimes being serious can annoy some people, but only by working seriously can I have hope.”

When asked about his views on money, Stephen replied: “Of course I hope I can earn more. I was very poor during my childhood. When I had the opportunity, I made money by my own abilities. It wasn’t about what I wanted to eat or where I wanted to live. People had to keep achieving goals. Earning money didn’t have to have an end. Doing something as well as possible is the real core; earning money made it a complete package.”
