It takes a lot to surprise Post Malone. But the typically unflappable “I Had Some Help” singer seemed genuinely surprised last weekend when he ran into a rather stiff stunt double backstage at the Governors Ball festival in New York. In a video posted by Consequence of soundPosty is seen going backstage after his headlining performance when he bumps into his new figure heading to Madame Tussauds wax museum in Las Vegas.
At first thinking he was just another hipster hanging around backstage, Malone walked by at first and said, “I’m so lost right now,” before turning around and realizing he was looking at a wax mirror. “Are you kidding?” he says with a surprised look as he walks away. To be fair, the paraffin Post bears a striking resemblance, right down to the trademark facial tattoos, gold teeth, wide smile, and beer pong accessories on his hand.
“I literally thought it was a person,” Post says as he smiles at the stunt double doing the devil’s horn hand sign. “Is this hair real?” he asks. “Whose hair is it? Mine? Were you guys in my shower? Malone says he’s “blown away” by the level of detail, right down to his diamond-encrusted grille, and thanks the people at Tussauds for the “help there…I appreciate it.”
He then marvels at how they perfectly captured his many tattoos, asks how the detail work is done, and wonders if his new busty friend could do his shows for him. “I would love to catch up on sleep,” says the rapper and singer who has the famous phrase “Always Tired” written in ink under his eyes. The clip ends with Post putting his arm around the figure and then turning it over for good measure.
Malone is currently riding high with his number one hit with Morgan Wallen (“I Had Some Help”) and his appearance at the Gov Ball was filled with his many hits, including “Congratulations,” “Wow,” “Circles” and “Better Now,” among others.
