Lando Norris has said a “reset” is needed during F1’s summer break following a difficult Belgian Grand Prix.
Norris spun off course on the opening lap of Sunday’s race at Spa-Francorchamps.
His last mistake caused him to lose several positions on lap 1, which put him at a disadvantage.
Norris was eventually beaten by his main F1 title rival Max Verstappen, who started 11th on the grid following an engine penalty.
Reflecting on his race, Norris said at Spa, where Crash.net was present in the paddock: “It was just impossible to overtake. “I think there was very little overtaking on track, most of it was just at the pit stops.
“There were some overtaking moves, but only when you have a 10-lap tyre advantage. Otherwise it was a bit of a difficult race to overtake. I felt we were fast, the car was fast.”
Belgium was not the first time Norris had lost in the first round this season.
He effectively lost the win to Oscar Piastri in Hungary due to his slow start.
Similarly, in Barcelona, he lost two positions in the first lap.

Norris admits he simply needs to “reset” for the second half of the year.
“I just need to reset, I’ve given away a lot of points in the last three or four races because of stupid things, mistakes and bad starts,” he added.
“In the first corner, I was trying to stay out of trouble, trying to make sure I didn’t get hit and then I went off the track. I did some stupid things.
“I misjudged, I didn’t want to get taken out at Turn 1, so I left the gap and misjudged the exit.
“The pace is good, the team is doing an incredible job. I am happy, in a way I feel like I don’t want to take a break, we are in good shape. Even (on Sunday), the pace was strong.
“In the last two or three races I haven’t been up to par. I’ve lost a lot of points.”
