An ASOS t-shirt with a misspelled slogan has left shoppers scratching their heads.
The ASOS DESIGN Long Sleeve Mesh Baby T-Shirt comes in a variety of designs, but one in particular has gotten everyone talking. Posting on X (formerly Twitter), one user was quick to highlight a number of grammatical errors in the £18 item of clothing.
The t-shirt says: “We have never been here before” (sic). The missing apostrophe from “we” and the capitalization of “before” had some social media fans wondering “what happened.”

One wrote: “An editor just died somewhere reading this. (ASOS, come on, what is this? WEVE?!?).” Another added: “No apostrophe and with a capital B? What is going on???” Meanwhile, another agreed: “The capital b from earlier bothers me too.”
Another user shared a Simpsons GIF of Radioactive Man saying his eyes were burning. “My eyes! Glasses don’t do anything!” he said.
ASOS was founded in London in 2000 and quickly became one of the UK’s most popular online fast fashion and cosmetics stores. Initially it sold knockoffs of clothing seen on our television screens under the name “AsSeenOnScreen.”
However, the brand has since expanded its repertoire and now has over 850 brands on its books.
The clothing brand has printed hundreds of quote-worthy tops since then and has slogans from artists like Mean Girls and Marvel emblazoned on many of its products. Other T-shirts feature more generic phrases like: “Ask me what book I’m reading” and “New York,” both spelled correctly.
This particular garment is also available in other styles. The ASOS DESIGN Long Sleeve Mesh Baby T-Shirt also comes in a range of designs including a denim print, ‘monochrome’, landscape print on the front or a leopard face print. None of these feature words, while another design, which reads “Venice, California,” doesn’t appear to feature any spelling errors.
