Silva on the key moment of the fight
“I feel happy. I feel like I deserve it. It’s been a long time trying to get to the UFC and I have to remind myself that if I want to be one of the best in the world, I have to believe that I deserve to be here.”
Silva on his weight loss
“It happens. I ran out of time. We didn’t anticipate that my body would only lose a pound every two hours. I made a mistake by leaving my pants and sweater on when it was acting as insulation, so it didn’t really let me sweat and it was just a rookie mistake on our part. We should have known better, just warm up better with that on and then take it off and go into the sauna with just the sauna suit on. But we live and learn. It’s the first time I’ve lost weight, like that. “That won’t happen again. I’ll never wear those pants again.”
Silva on what he wants next
“I want to fight the best. I think Culibao was up there. I think he was 30th in the rankings. So I’m ready for whoever he is. I’m here to get tested. “I am ready to fight against all those from 45.”
