Judge Judy says she turned down the chance to make a cameo in “Legally Blonde.”

Judy Sheindlin, the television judge on the series “Judy Justice,” told E! News that her “only regret” was not landing a role in the iconic film.

“They reached out through someone and said, ‘We’d like you to be the judge,'” Sheindlin said, referring to the character in the murder trial scene from the 2001 film starring Reese Witherspoon.

The 81-year-old actress ultimately turned down the role for unspecified reasons, but says in retrospect she should have taken it.

“It was the biggest mistake I ever made in my career,” Sheindlin said. “Not playing that role in that movie.”

The role of the judge in “Legally Blonde” ultimately fell to actress Francesca P. Roberts.

“Sometimes you have to accept the adventure and go with it,” Sheindlin added.

In a 2022 interview with E! News, Sheindlin said she wouldn’t mind Witherspoon playing her in a biopic of her.

“We’re friends and she understands me, and I know she does,” Sheindlin told E! News. “And I think she’s a great actress and I think she could, if they did it, which I wouldn’t want to, I think she could pull it off.”
