Chris Hemsworth is now a Hollywood superstar.

But the Australian actor began his career on the Australian soap opera Home and Away, where he played Kim Hyde between 2004 and 2007.

He was paired on-screen with actress Amy Mathews, 44, who played his love interest Rachel Armstrong.

The on-screen couple walked down the aisle, and Amy had the unique achievement of being Chris Hemsworth’s first “wife,” albeit only on-screen.

“I’m a different person and it took me a long time to get over that moment,” Amy told the Daily Telegraph of her years in the show’s fictional Summer Bay.

‘Nobody prepares you for fame, not for the media, not for your perception, not for your brand, not for any of that.

“And I was young and I was learning and making mistakes, and if I had free time, I would do it differently.”

She added: “I was really surprised when I got Home and Away. I thought, ‘Are you sure about this?’ I don’t feel like this is my place, but I’m really grateful to be here.”

Since then, Amy has had an illustrious career, most recently starring in the acclaimed series The Twelve.

Chris, 40, is married to Spanish actress Elsa Pataky, 48.

The couple, who were introduced by their agent in 2010, tied the knot just three months after meeting.

Hemsworth, known for his role as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has also spoken out about their instant connection.

“From the first time we met, our relationship made sense,” she said.

The loving couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named India, in May 2012.

“Nobody prepares you for fame, not for the media, not for your perception, not for your brand, not for any of that… And I was young and I was learning and making mistakes, and if I had my free time, I would do it differently,” she said.

More blessings followed when in March 2014, their family expanded with the birth of twin boys, Sasha and Tristan.

The Hemsworths have since settled in the picturesque coastal town of Byron Bay, making it their permanent home in 2014.

Chris also reflected on the challenges of his early years in a 2017 interview with GQ magazine.

“My wife and I fell in love, had kids, didn’t see each other for a few years and then fell in love again,” he said, acknowledging the strain of balancing a burgeoning career with family life.
