Celebrity Hunted spoilers follow.
The Celebrity Hunted social media team made a mistake earlier today, when Strictly Come Dancing professional Giovanni Pernice was mistaken for This Morning chef Gino D’Acampo.
The dancer was introduced as a contestant on next year’s series of the Channel 4 show, but Hunted made a mistake by announcing the news via her Twitter account.
According to previous series, the Hunted account announced the news wanted poster style, writing: “Have you seen this runaway celebrity? Giovanni Pernice”, but the photo was of chef D’Acampo.

Understandably, the gaffe attracted a lot of attention on social media, with mathematician Bobby Seagull, a contestant on the most recent series, joking: “Now I see the Hunters like comedy.”
In addition to Pernice, the cast of the 2024 series of Celebrity Hunted includes Christina McGuinness, Danielle Harold, Denise Welch, James Duncan, Kai Widdrington, Kimberly Hart Simpson and Lincoln Townley.
In the most recent series, all of the fugitives were captured before they could complete their objective, and Seagull was the closest to evading the Hunters.
Former Strictly contestant Saffron Barker, who was paired with Seagull, opened up about her experiences filming the show and revealed she risked being captured for certain “essential elements”.

“I actually risked getting caught for a Nando’s,” he revealed. “I went a lot of days without (it) and there aren’t many days I go without Nando’s, so I thought, ‘Why not?’ There’s no good excuse he can give, he was just wanting it.
“I also ran the risk of getting caught one day for spray tanning, but you have to do some things,” he added, before talking about his partnership with Seagull. “Bobby is a genius but I consider myself pretty smart. In fact, I was surprisingly fine. We did very well”.
Hunted celebrity is broadcast on Channel 4 in support of Facing cancer.
