There was a time in the early 2010s when New York was so close to having the superteam of everyone’s fantasies. LeBron James, Dwyane Wade Wade and Chris Bosh were reportedly about to join Carmelo Anthony on the New York Knicks. However, they ended up with the Miami Heat. Instead of Melo, D-Wade took Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller and got Bron and Bosh in the deal. Many people involved in this near miss have different versions of this story. Gilbert Arenas echoed it and blamed Knicks boss James Dolan for skipping the team of his life.
“When Dwyane Wade, (Chris) Bosh and LeBron (James) decided to team up, they weren’t playing in one city. So everyone can stay fresh. “So they were planning to go to New York together.” Sands revealed Gil’s Sand. “And what happened is that because they didn’t tell anyone, Dolan made a mistake by paying Amar’e Stoudemire. “They (James, Bosh, Wade) didn’t want to play with Amar’ Stoudemire because they had their own damn Big 3.”
The result: the Knicks’ loss was the Heat’s gain. “Because New York was screwed, they called Micky (Arison) and said, ‘Hey, Micky, this is what we want to do.’ Can you make that happen?'” Where the Knicks owner let the trio down, Miami Heat owner Micky Arison came out ahead. The structure back then was what Arenas emphasized about what would give Miami two championships. ““If you knew what was going on back then, you would have known New York dropped the ball.”

The scenario according to Arenas was that the Knicks were trying to attract Mike Miller, who was in the circle of the Big 3, with an offer of $60 million. He turned it down to join Miami for $30 million and play alongside James. Heat Culture, lifer, UD turned down an expensive deal and took a pay cut to accommodate James in Miami. The flash Wade County stayed and Bosh arrived, building Miami’s superteam.
