A video capturing the moment a boyfriend “saved” his girlfriend’s life has gone viral on TikTok.
The clip was shared by Darcy McQueeny (@darcymcqueenyyy) and has garnered 2.2 million views since it was posted on April 14.
A message overlaid on the clip reads “When your boyfriend saves you from ‘donating’ your entire identity.”
The images show the groom sitting on a bed. He says in the clip, “So we’re getting rid of these,” placing his hand on a dresser next to the bed, “and I just saw this little cubby here that I didn’t know I had.”
“Oh Darc, have you ever used one of these?”
Hysterical laughter can be heard in the background as the man opens the drawer and pulls out a large envelope.
Pointing out that the envelope contains the woman’s passport and birth certificate, he asks: “Throw this in the trash? You don’t need any of this, do you?” while the laughter continues in the background.
A caption shared with the post reads: “Moving day almost went bad. I forgot about that!”
You’ll probably want to keep your passport because applying for a new one can be complicated. With air travel experiencing continued growth in the post-COVID-19 pandemic era, those who need passports could face processing delays due to high travel demand.

The State Department advises “Consider the total time it will take to obtain a passport when booking travel.”
“Applications may take up to 2 weeks to reach a passport agency or center. It may take up to 2 weeks to receive a complete passport after we print it,” the department explains.
Those traveling in 14 days or less and urgently need a passport should book an appointment with the center’s local passport agency.
Those who have not yet applied for a passport must make an appointment online. “Your appointment must be scheduled within 14 calendar days of your international travel date,” the department says. Those who have already applied can call 1-877-487-2778 to schedule an appointment.
“We cannot guarantee that an appointment will be available,” the department notes, and walk-in options are not available.
‘This is very funny’
The bride in the latest viral clip says, “Well, I’m glad you asked about that (the envelope containing her passport and birth certificate) because I almost donated them.”
Later, the boyfriend says, “To be honest, I really don’t think you needed them.”
“Thank you very much,” the woman says as she takes the envelope that the boyfriend hands her before the clip ends.
