A woman who ordered chairs for her guests to sit on at her birthday party was left baffled when 20 miniature chairs turned up instead.
María Ramírez purchased the 20 chairs before her 41st birthday party from popular Chinese e-commerce giant Temu, but was confused when a small package arrived at her door hours before the festivities began.
Upon opening the package from Temu, famous for its low prices, he quickly realized that they were actually toy chairs worthy of a doll’s house. Posting on social media, Maria shared the hilarious story online, racking up 3.4 million views.
“When you order 20 Temu chairs for your party and your birthday is just a few hours away,” she captioned the video.
A Temu buyer admits that “it was my fault”
Maria admitted that she did not look at the measurements of the chairs before placing the order. “I want to clarify that I know it was my fault for not looking at the measurements,” María said. “I was so sure about the cost because Temu really has very good prices.
“It is one of my favorite sites to use for online shopping and one that I will continue to shop at.”
In the clip, Maria holds the chairs with her fingers, showing how small the seats are.
Shoppers react to a “nice” mistake
Many have flocked to the comments to share their reactions, and many people have offered other uses for them. “Listen to me, souvenirs you can put your drinks in,” one joked.
Another added: “But it’s so cute.”
“That’s what happens when you order something and don’t look at the size,” said a third.
Temu even commented on the woman’s post: “Oops, the chairs are a little small, but your satisfaction is our big goal! You can request a refund if the product does not meet the description.”
