Valencia, Sevilla and Bologna interested in Real Sociedad Super Eagles striker Sadiq

Umar Sadiq has been linked with a move away from La Liga club Real Sociedad in the summer transfer window.

According to Spanish sports newspaper AS, Valencia have identified the Nigerian coach as a potential target if they fail to sign their main candidate, Rafa Mir, from Sevilla.

Valencia are working on a deal that would see Sadiq join the club on loan for a season.

Los Ches are confident that the deal for the lanky Nigerian center forward will go ahead, as their sporting director, Miguel Ángel Corona, has a good relationship with Roberto Olabe, Real Sociedad’s sporting director.

Valencia will face competition for Sadiq’s services, with Sevilla and Italian side Bologna also showing interest in the 2016 Olympics bronze medalist.

The Kusa Boys product struggled to break into Real Sociedad’s starting lineup last season after recovering from a career-threatening injury shortly after his arrival to the blue and white team from Almería.

Sadiq started fifteen of a possible fifty-three games in all competitions during the 2023-2024 campaign, while recording
1,384 minutes.

The striker has worn the colors of Partizan Belgrade, Rangers, AS Roma, Spezia, Perugia, NAC Breda, Torino and USD Lavagnese in the past.

He scored on his senior debut as Nigeria defeated Guinea-Bissau 2-0 at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and was initially named in the squad for the 2023 AFCON, but was replaced at the last minute due to fitness problems.
