Trinny Woodall has made “so many” beauty mistakes over the years.
The 59-year-old hairstylist, who launched her own Trinny Beauty line in 2017, used to put on fake tan to hide her acne and suffered sun damage as a result of sunbathing outdoors to get a natural glow.
In an interview with Woman and Home magazine, she said: “I made a lot of beauty mistakes when I was younger. When I had a lot of acne, I would compensate by using a lot of fake tan. I also went out in the sun, so I suffered from sun damage.”
The former ‘What Not To Wear’ star turned to laser treatment to help correct the scars on her skin.
And Trinny is happy to openly discuss the “tweaks” she has undergone to her appearance, including fillers in her face so she doesn’t look “skeletal” and regular Botox injections to smooth out wrinkles.
She added: “You have to be open about the touch-ups you’ve had. I get Botox twice a year.
“I’ve had a CO2 laser for acne scars and sun damage, and I’ve had filler in my temples because as you get older, you can look skeletal.”
According to Trinny, prevention is key to slowing down the clock and addressing the signs of aging before they appear.
She said: “I think it’s about finding a balance between what will help you not develop more fine lines and skin texture and maintaining a good skin care regime. “Everyone should follow five basic steps to skin care, including cleansing and moisturizing. Cleanse your skin, exfoliate with a liquid scrub (I love my Trinny London scrubs). “Use an antioxidant, a retinoid, and a sunscreen.”
