Emmerdale is set for worrying scenes next week as Matty Barton is left terrified after his wife Amy’s mistake leads to him landing in prison.
Worrying scenes are set to happen in Emmerdale next week as Matty Barton finds himself in danger.
Last month, Samson Dingle was stabbed in one of the most shocking scenes and Matty was to blame for what happened after the knife he was holding ended up in Samson’s stomach. In the shocking scenes, Samson’s new friend Josh confronted Matty after he poured the beers they had paid for down the drain. He was furious that Josh was constantly flirting with Amy, despite knowing that Matty and Amy had recently gotten married.
Things escalated when the vile Josh began making reference to Matty being transgender and in a furious confrontation, Matty warned them to leave, but Josh wasn’t having it. He pushed Samson forward and towards the knife Matty was holding. In horrific scenes, Samson was taken away in an ambulance, while Matty was arrested and has been fighting in prison ever since.
There is no CCTV footage to back up Matty’s claims, while Josh threatened Samson to stick to his side of the story to avoid trouble with the young man who lied to the police. In next week’s spoilers, Matty is feeling more hopeful in prison as his cellmate Les has accepted him as a trans man and is happy to tell his wife Amy when she visits.
Matty is even more positive when Amy reveals that they have a new lawyer, giving him hope that he may be out of prison soon. When visiting time ends, Amy is delighted to see her husband more positive and as she watches Matty leave, she is soon approached by Robbo, who she mistakes for Les. In a cruel twist, Robbo pretends to sympathise with him and Amy tells him the truth about Matty, but she is unaware of the danger she has put her husband in.
Later, Matty returns to his cell as Les leaves to see his solicitor and once he’s gone, Robbo arrives in the cramped cell. Matty’s blood runs cold as he discovers this thug has spoken to his wife and he’s soon trapped and terrified in his cell as the transphobic Robbo closes in on him. Meanwhile, back in the village, an optimistic Amy arrives home to tell everyone about Matty’s positive attitude. Will Matty be okay?
