Joe Biden’s regrets continue!
In his latest admission, US President Biden acknowledged that he “messed up” and made a “mistake” during a presidential debate with Republican rival Donald Trump last week. However, he vowed to continue running for office despite currently trailing the former president by about six points in several polls.
Biden appeared in two interviews with local radio stations in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania on Wednesday and appealed to voters to evaluate him based on his tenure in the White House.
Speaking to Milwaukee radio host Earl Ingram, Biden said: “I had a bad night.” “And the fact is, I screwed up. I made a mistake. It’s 90 minutes on stage – look what I’ve done in three and a half years,” he added, according to The Guardian.
Addressing black voters, Biden highlighted his administration’s accomplishments over the past four years, emphasizing that he chose Kamala Harris as his vice president.
“I chose a black woman to be my vice president. I appointed the first black woman to be a Supreme Court justice. I have appointed more black judges, more black female judges, than any other president in the history of the United States combined,” he said.
Biden attacks Trump over comments about black workers
Biden further criticized Trump for comments he made about Black workers, claiming that migrant workers could be taking more than 20 million Black jobs.
When it comes to black and minority groups, Biden said Trump has done “terrible things,” adding that he “has as much interest and concern as the man on the moon.”
Several opinion polls taken after last week’s debate, in which Biden appeared to stumble and lose his train of thought, show the incumbent president’s popularity has slipped, raising concerns about his age and physical condition.
Biden prepares to host a July 4th party
On Thursday, Biden will host families at the White House as the United States prepares to celebrate Independence Day on July 4. On Friday, he will appear for an interview with ABC News. Later that day, he will fly to Wisconsin for a campaign rally that will draw hundreds of supporters.
Biden and first lady Jill will address thousands of supporters at the National Education Association in Pennsylvania on Sunday. The president will hold a rare solo news conference and welcome dozens of foreign leaders to the NATO summit in Washington the following week.
According to a source who spoke to Reuters, dozens of House Democrats are closely watching Biden and are prepared to pressure him to drop out of the race if he stumbles during Friday night’s interview with ABC.
