Just… how? How the hell do you do it? this mistake?
The New York Yankees and Cincinnati Reds faced off in a Fourth of July game on Thursday, and things didn’t go well for the Reds.
To start the game, Cincinnati quickly jumped out to a 2-0 lead with second baseman Jonathan India and right fielder Nick Martini hitting home runs. Later in the fifth inning, it was left fielder Spencer Steer’s turn, who hit a three-run blast to extend the Reds’ lead to 5-0. All of the home runs were off New York starting pitcher Marcus Stroman, tough!
The Reds attempted to rally and scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning after first baseman Ben Rice and catcher Austin Wells hit home runs. In the seventh, right fielder Juan Soto flied out, but the Reds were in complete control of the game. When the smoke cleared, Cincinnati had won the game, 8-4, and swept the Yankees.
But things are getting worse for New York.
In the top of the ninth inning, Cincinnati third baseman Jeimer Candelario hit a routine single to center field — except it wasn’t a single. Yankees outfielder Trent Grisham was being a little lazy in picking up the ball, and it backfired. He ended up fumbled the ball, and Candelario took full advantage by getting to second base.
Unsurprisingly, Yankees fans left him alone.

Wow… and to think this guy gets paid very, very well not to make mistakes like this.
