Tiffany Stratton made an “honest mistake” by uploading a video with Jade Cargill that generated considerable backlash in the WWE Universe.
The offensive video in question was shared on Instagram and shows Jade and Stratton on opposite ends of a tag team match at a WWE live event. In the video, Cargill is called a “Black b***h” after a slap from the former WWE NXT Women’s Champion.
Although Stratton did not utter those words and the audio clip was used in several videos on Instagram and TikTok, the video sparked backlash with accusations of racial insensitivity. Some fans even went as far as tagging Triple H and WWE and demanding Stratton be fired from the company.

Stratton quickly deleted the video and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted at the time that “if this was someone who wasn’t a star, he would have been fired instantly.” Fortunately, for Stratton that didn’t happen and he has remained a part of the roster. Speaking to Adrian Hernandez before the WWE Money in the Bank 2024 PLE, Stratton was asked about the video in question.
“It was an unintentional mistake. I didn’t listen to the audio. I had it on for about 20 seconds and I deleted it immediately as soon as I heard the audio. It was an unintentional mistake.”
Following the video, Stratton quietly retired from WWE Women’s Championship contention and did not win the Queen of the Ring tournament as many expected. That being said, it’s impossible to say whether this was “punishment” for the video or if it was simply WWE’s plans in motion. Whatever the case, Stratton’s video is a reminder for everyone to be careful about what they post on social media.
