A Nebraska woman’s luck doubled when she won hundreds of thousands of dollars from a lottery ticket that was mistakenly printed twice.

In an unexpected stroke of luck, Lori Sailors of Lincoln has secured a massive $220,000 jackpot in the Nebraska Lottery’s Pick 5 drawing, and her ticket was “mistakenly printed.” She purchased the ticket at Casey’s store on N 48th Street, which turned out to be an unexpected investment for Lori’s family, who have a knack for taking advantage of unexpected opportunities.

“I don’t let mistakes go unnoticed,” she said, “I don’t just leave them there.” However, this isn’t the first time Lori has had luck in the lottery. She previously won $54,000 in another Pick 5 drawing in June 2019, and that ticket was also printed in error.

Lori and her husband, Monte, intend to use the winnings to pay off their daughter’s “student loans and bolster their savings,” thereby ensuring a brighter financial future. In fact, Lori has been struck by lightning twice, proving that sometimes life’s little mistakes can lead to the biggest rewards.

She’s not the only lottery winner who has struck it lucky more than once. Last month, a Maryland man identified only as “Mr D,” won a $50,000 prize in the Pick 5 game after playing the lottery for five decades. He had previously enjoyed playing scratch-offs and Mega Millions, but began playing the Pick 5 and Pick 4 games in 2022.
