On the July 10 episode of AEW Dynamite, Will Ospreay took issue with MJF and made cutting comments on the microphone.

Footage from the segment can be seen below this story, and the pair will face off for the AEW International Championship on the 250th episode of Dynamite next week.

In reaction to his comments on last night’s AEW Dynamite, Ospreay tweeted a cryptic message, posting:

“Okay guys, I realized I made a mistake during my comments last night on Dynamite.

“I will do better next time. Personally, I was under a lot of stress and I didn’t focus on my words, so the result didn’t add up.

“There are no excuses when the red light is on.

“Next week I’ll do it in style.”

The tweet sparked much consternation among his followers as to what the mistake could have been, with many convinced that there was no such mistake.

One follower responded to suggest it could have been related to the MJF bidding war between AEW and WWE not turning out as expected, while it was also suggested he had confused two similar-sounding words.

In the promo, which can be seen below, Ospreay took the microphone and said:

“Last week at the end of Dynamite, I was upset, but to be honest, I’m not surprised. I’ve heard rumors about MJF. I’ve heard rumors that you’re one of the most insecure men in professional wrestling. And you proved it.

“Because a guy like Daniel Garcia earns every opportunity he gets. And the moment Garcia sneaks up on MJF’s popularity, MJF does everything he can to stop him: a piledriver off the second turnbuckle. And MJF, you want to blame the people?”

“You want to blame them for being open and vulnerable with them. I’ve only had a few interactions with MJF and I can already tell you don’t like me. The number one reason is that the 2024 bidding war didn’t go your way because Tony Khan would rather spend his money on guys who will elevate AEW instead of burying it.

“Reason number two: I’m apparently a mediocre player with no talent. You can have that opinion, but last time I checked, I was in Calgary. I think we can all agree that I have more talent in my left testicle than MJF has in his entire body.

“And I think the main reason you don’t like me is because I remind people what the identity of what AEW is supposed to be. I represent the foundation of this place. You came back after an injury and you had a tattoo that said, ‘AEW: Bet on Yourself,’ but you only care about yourself. From the moment I came into AEW, I’ve been cleaning up messes, but I’ve found the guy who’s been causing the messes.

“Believe me, the whole point is that you’re a motherfucker. Some people are going to cheer you on because you’re their motherfucker. And that’s the best version of MJF and it’s been the same as always for five years. The devil’s level is the ground floor, but I’m on the top floor of a skyscraper.

“And this time I’m not in England mourning the loss of my grandmother. I’m here and I’m ready to fight, so let’s do it, bro!”

One thing is for sure, Calgary fans really supported Ospreay every step of the way during his promotion.
