Hibs midfielder Dylan Levitt has blamed “careless mistakes in some key areas” for Hibs’ disappointing defeat to Kelty Hearts on Saturday afternoon.
Hibs fell to a 1-0 defeat at New Central Park with Kelty defender Callum Flatman scoring the only goal of the game.
Hibs created numerous chances against the Fife side but were unable to score.
Speaking to Hibs TV after the match, Levitt shared his thoughts on the performance.
“It’s very disappointing and a really bad result. I think we didn’t move the ball quickly enough, we made some mistakes in some key areas and we were fouled on a set piece, which we knew would be one of their main threats.
“I don’t remember Smudge (Jordan Smith) having to make a save. In general, it’s not a good image, especially for the new signings coming in and we have to play a lot better than that.”
“We hit the post three times in the first half, and if they go in then it’s a completely different game.
“But we received a surprise blow in the second half and from then on we always chased the game.
“They slowed down the pace of the game and controlled it. We were in good positions, but we weren’t effective enough.
“We will review this game on Monday and analyse it, look at the key areas where we need to improve and hopefully we can turn things around, starting on Wednesday.”
