Raiders quarterback battle: Will Gardner Minshew lose his starting job?

The Las Vegas Raiders have had just four days of training camp practices.

Of course, the battle to be the starting quarterback between incumbent Aidan O’Connell and veteran free agent Gardner Minshew has been the main focal point of practices.

There is still a long way to go before the team’s front office makes a decision. The team has most of training camp and three preseason games, which begin Aug. 10 at Minnesota, before making a decision on the position.

While it’s early, Minshew, an experienced player who started 13 games for the Indianapolis Colts last season, has been making some mistakes and throwing some interceptions as he’s tried to make something happen in training camp so far.

Minshew has a lot of courage and can move around to try to make plays. However, that has affected him a bit so far. Meanwhile, O’Connell, who is less mobile than Minshew, has been more consistent because he hasn’t tried to do too much.

While Minshew’s style of work opens up possibilities, it is also risky.

Do you think this will cost Minshew his job or do you think his wild nature will exactly be a benefit to the offense during the season?
