The South African version of the ever-popular American talent show, The masked singer has taken local entertainment by storm. After a successful first season, fans are starting to see why the show has returned for a second season.
While recent weeks’ second season has seen celebrities from all walks of life exposed behind their masks, the most recent episodes had many in trouble.
This comes after a well-known media personality and one of the show’s panel detectives, Somizi Mhlongo, shocked fans and fellow panellists after mixing up the names of two prominent figures to identify who he believed was behind the Butterfly mask.
In the video that has since been shared on Somizi’s Instagram page, the well-known artist surprised everyone when he revealed that the person behind the butterfly mask was Rosemary Ndlovu.
This revelation was met with a few seconds of stony silence, especially since the lady mentioned was a convicted serial killer who was sentenced for killing six of her relatives in the hopes of claiming the insurance money.
As the host, Mpho Pops, jokingly indicated the “kill” gesture to make sure Somizi knew who he was referring to, a fellow panelist asked: “Is he out?” to which Somizi later clarified, revealing that he was referring to the Savage Beauty actress, who was actually Rosemary Zimu.
In a sigh of relief, the group laughed and Mpho Pops noted that they were scared for a moment.
