Bungee jumper dies of heart attack after terrible mistake

WARNING – CONFRONTING VIDEO: The moment a 25-year-old woman plunges to her death after jumping from a bridge without a bungee cord around her ankles has been captured on video by horrified onlookers.

The young woman reportedly died in mid-air from a massive heart attack after realizing too late that she had made a disastrous mistake.

Yecenia Morales, 25, died in the tragic bungee jumping incident when she reportedly jumped off the bridge without a rope after hearing a signal meant for her boyfriend.

The incident took place in the municipality of Amagá, in the department of Antioquia, in northern Colombia, on July 18.

Another tourist filmed a video of the victim jumping off the viaduct to his death from a nearby cliff. It was later shared on the social media platform TikTok.

According to local media, the young woman was accompanied by her boyfriend, who was ahead of her in line to participate in the activity organized by the Sky Bungee Jumping company.

Around 100 people were waiting to bungee jump from a bridge at a height of about 45 metres.

Morales was ranked 90th on the list, meaning she was among the last jumpers that day and did not have the bungee cord tied to her ankles.

Local media said she misinterpreted a signal meant for her boyfriend to jump and suddenly jumped off the viaduct.

She fell from a height of about 50 meters into a valley and when the emergency services arrived at the scene she was already dead.

Her boyfriend was the first to arrive where she landed on the ground, and he desperately tried to perform CPR since he had first aid training, however, it was too late.

He is reportedly receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained while attempting to reach his position in the valley and is said to be in a state of shock.

According to local media, doctors at the hospital said he suffered a massive heart attack before reaching the ground.

Meanwhile, local authorities have opened an investigation after claiming that two companies offering services and supplying equipment at the site were not authorized to do so.
