Airport security had an embarrassing moment after they pulled a passenger aside and asked if she had an illegal item in her luggage, before mistaking the same item for something even stranger.
A woman’s airport experience left her red in the face after her power bank was mistaken for something completely different.
When she was stopped at security to check her carry-on luggage, she received some awkward questions from security officers, after they mistook the power bank she had brought for her phone for a knife… and then a sex toy.
The original post’s author posted a photo of the offending item on Twitter/X and says the experience will “haunt” him for some time. He revealed his backpacking experience with a now-viral post on the app, which showed a portable charger released alongside the Diablo III video game.
They claimed: “I was stopped at airport security and asked if I had a knife, which of course I didn’t. I was then awkwardly asked if I had a ‘self-indulgence device’ in my backpack and I was HORRIFIED… Turns out it was my Blizzcon-exclusive Diablo III soulstone power bank.”
Other Twitter/X users saw the brighter side of the experience and began to wonder how terrible it had been. One user wrote: “That’s hilarious. Sounds mortifying.” The original poster replied: “10/10. It’ll haunt me for a while.”
Another user joked: “The person who asked that was half expecting you to say knife so they wouldn’t have to ask the next question.” A third revealed they’d had a similar experience while waiting through security, revealing: “Hey, the exact same thing happened to me at the airport with this same power bank. I was pulled aside and told ‘What is this? It looks weird.'”
