Roger Federer made international headlines in January when he posed for a selfie with a quokka on Rottnest Island during his trip to Perth for the Hopman Cup.
It was a surprising marketing coup for Western Australian tourism, but who says it takes a tennis legend to talk about adorable quokkas when they’re so good at being adorable on their own?
Perth woman Shannon Ducker was cycling around the island, a tourist favourite 12 miles off the coast of Fremantle, on Sunday when she stopped for a quick break.
When he looked down at the ground, he noticed a small furry creature coming very close to the pedal of his bike.
As he licks and chews it, the adorable quokka thinks the pedal is food or he just likes the taste of metal.

Quokkas are known to be very friendly and unafraid of humans, but on Rottnest Island it is illegal for visitors to handle or feed the animals, especially human food, as it can make them sick.
Which leads us to ask: how does it feel to try to eat a bike pedal?
