Pecco Bagnaia arrived at the summer break in possession of the lead of the MotoGP World Championship but, like everyone and despite being a champion, he also makes mistakes and that is precisely what happened to him at the Spanish GP, in the Sprint race, or at least that is what the Team Manager of the Ducati Lenovo Team believes.
Davide Tardozzi did not hesitate to consider what happened a mistake and explained that the Italian is perfectly aware of it, although he quickly recovered: “I don’t want to call it a misfortune, he made a mistake in Barcelona and he knows it very well. Anyway, he is a champion and he got over it: the next day, as you know, he didn’t cry, he won.”
According to the manager, Bagnaia is very demanding of himself and is constantly growing: “Having said that, Pecco is very demanding of himself when he makes mistakes and I think that in the future he will learn a lot from those same mistakes. He continues to grow, he is a two-time world champion and he is working on himself to solve these things that are sometimes a question of concentration.”
What caused the accident, Tardozzi believes, was due to a serious lapse in concentration: ‘I think that in Barcelona I knew that I had victory in my pocket, and sometimes you have to be focused until the checkered flag.’
The accident, let us remember, occurred on the last lap of the GP when the Italian had everything to win.
