Meghan Markle fans have defended the Duchess of Sussex following the “soft launch” of the first product from her new luxury brand. Mother-of-two Meghan revealed in March that she would be launching a new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.
The first potential product from her brand was reportedly revealed this week. Friends of the Duchess, who shares Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet with husband Prince Harry, appear to have received handmade jars of strawberry jam, suggesting this could be American Riviera Orchard’s first launch.
They have been sharing photos online, revealing how they received a jar of jam from the former Suits actress. The small jars include handwritten labels with the American Riviera Orchard logo and the word ‘Montecito’ underneath.

There is also a text number indicating which jar it is out of 50, indicating that it was a small production run. Friends of Meghan have since praised the jam made by the former actress, the Mirror reports.
But fans have come to the Duchess’ defence after social media users claimed the labels on the jars were “peeling off”. One person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Has anyone noticed the label on the promotional jams Meghan Markle is sending to her ‘friends’ is literally peeling off?
“Not a good start,” said another. “Cheap labels coming off. Is this what people were waiting for?”
In response, fans defended the Duchess, as one shared: “I know people say the label is falling off. Remember, Meghan is a sustainability girl.
“The label is probably not attached well enough to allow people to easily peel it off and reuse the jar for other things, perhaps their own batch of homemade jam… from a cookbook.”
